Weekly Goings on Another busy week in Lodge House, although I must say a little quieter than the last (phew!)! We were greeted with the Presentation Assembly on Monday morning where a vast number of Lodge House girls got up to receive awards and prizes from an array of subjects, including Duke of Edinburgh, Maths Challenges and grades achieved in music. The girls also got their chance to go up in front of the school to collect the Junior and Intermediate House Swimming trophies which was a lovely moment. The Upcycling Competition winners were also announced, and I am pleased to say that our bright and beautiful array of upcycled milk bottles got us first place in the competition, well done girls! Lodge House Sport On Wednesday Mrs Fordyce took a school team to a swimming gala at Sedbergh school. The team was made up of a good representative from Lodge House of Calli, Charlotte, Alexa and Estee. The girls did a sterling job at fighting hard and not giving up, with the majority of them swimming up in age categories! Well done, girls. There was a first team Hockey match this Wednesday too, against RGS where Freya played for the team for the first time. She was as proud as punch to wear the kit and came in on Thursday with a rather large grin on her face which was lovely to see. Fundraising On Thursday we had our house bake sale, raising money for St Cuthbert's Hospice. It, of course, was a great success and we raised over £160, meaning that we have collectively raised over £1500 this half term. A massive achievement and I hope we can keep this momentum going for the rest of the term. I briefly visited the Hospice this week to collect some bunting, change buckets and information material for the house. Although a very quick visit, I must say that the place has such a welcoming and calm atmosphere, and I feel very humbled that we are support such a valuable cause. I have organised for a member of the team to come and speak to the girls on the first Friday back after half term and I hope the girls find this informative and encourages them further in their charity efforts. Please look out for an email from school which contains the link to the Trilby presentation of Lodge House goings on. Thank you to Mrs Fordyce for putting this together. Lady of Lodge This weeks Lady of Lodge goes to Calli who captained the U15 Swim team this week. We are also constantly impressed with Calli's enthusiasm and engagement in the house. Well done, Calli!
