As we enter the last week of what has been an incredibly busy and long half term, the Pooleites are nearly running on empty. However, this has not stopped them from having yet another incredible week. Poole House Performers Last Saturday evening, we saw Handel's Messiah performed in the Cathedral. It was lovely to see so many incredible musicians come together to make a truly remarkable and memorable night of music. We were proud to see five Pooleites playing their part, in Edward and William C, Symeon B, Owen L and Jayden L. Well done boys, you were outstanding. More musical success followed this week as James C wowed the Chorister school pupils on Thursday morning with his outstanding Violin skills. Well done, James. Love The Planet Upcycling This week has also seen the House competition "Love the Planet" upcycling Challenge. This was a chance to rethink everyday objects and give them new, creative uses. The challenge was open to all students, with no limit on how many milk cartons could be used. Our incredible Year 7 produced some outstanding entries and showed of their creative side. See the attached photos. Poole House Fundraising Well done to our super year 7. It has been excellent to hear some of the plans the boys have to raise money for the MND association, and I look forward to hearing how they get on and how much money we can raise together. This week, however, Ben D in year 9 has set the standard and incredibly has raised over £360 himself. Ben plans to do a 20-mile bike ride this weekend and is aiming to take his personal total to over £400. Our current total as a house stands at £1144 which is superb. I look forward to seeing that grow over the coming weeks as a lot of the boys have plans to use half term to complete their own activities. If you would like any further information on the MND association, please follow this link https://www.mndassociation.org/ If you would like to donate to our JustGiving page please visit our page, by using the link below. https://www.justgiving.com/page/poolehouse1924?utm_source=IG We will keep updating our Instagram account (PooleHouse1924) throughout the year of how we are getting on and of all the achievements of our Pooleites. Thank you all in advance for your support with this cause. A message from Ms Thompson This term's Foundation's Open Morning takes place on Saturday, 8 March. Each year, we ask pupils to attend School on our two Open Mornings. Pupils' roles on the days include acting as tour guides, helping in individual Departments and with clubs' displays, and welcoming visitors in the Houses. Pupils should therefore expect to be in School from 8.30am to 12.30pm on 8 March. Please note that Open Morning is viewed as a school day and therefore pupils are expected to attend. If, for any reason, this is not possible, please let me know. Of course, if your child is representing the School in a sports fixture on the morning, or is a Cathedral Chorister, we will ensure that they are able to fulfil these commitments. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
