It has been a fast and furious week in MacLeod with many events, fixtures and challenges for the girls to be involved in. 

News from MacLeod House

Congratulations to Samantha (Y10) who placed 1st in the James Etherington Music Award for playing the saxophone. A brilliant achievement – well done, Samantha. 

Parnia and Emily in Year 13 had their A-Level Drama performance on Tuesday evening. The talent on show in all areas (acting and set design) was truly remarkable and it was lovely to see all of their hard work produce such a wonderful piece of drama. Many congratulations to the girls! 

Our House Hoodies have arrived and the girls look great in them! It will be lovely to see them donning their new hoodies at house events in the future – they really will be the GIRLS in GREEN!! 

On Wednesday we had our Valentine's Bake Sale to raise money for the Winnie Mabaso Foundation – thank you for all the donations of cakes, biscuits, brownies etc. We raised almost £150! 

February Half Term Collection

A friendly reminder about collection on the day we break up for February Half Term, Friday 21st February.

We have our half term chapel service at Durham Cathedral – it is a wonderful opportunity for the whole school community to come together in such a spectacular building. We will all return to the house at approximately 4pm so the girls can gather their belongings and be collected - MacLeod will close at 4.30pm latest, please ensure your daughter can be collected by that time and the school bus will go early at 4.30pm from the quad too. 

If you would like to collect your daughter straight from the Cathedral, please email me by Tuesday 18th February. 

Reminder: Year 9 Parents Evening is on Tuesday 18th February, this is an important evening to talk about your daughter's GCSE Options. 

Events After Half Term 

First week back – Y13 Mock Examinations 

Saturday 8th March – Open Morning – all girls are expected to be in school that day 

Tuesday 11th March – Year 9 and Year 10 Social 4.30-6pm 

Thursday 13th March – Y13 End of Mocks Treat 8.30am 

Tuesday 18th March – Y13 Parents Evening 

Friday 28th March – Sixth Form Social 4.45-6.30pm - MacLeod will close to all other girls at 4.45pm but girls needing to stay after that time can go to Pimlico/Lodge House 

Tuesday 1st April – Easter Bake Sale – Year Group Competition
