This week mirrored the whole term; incredibly busy and with a huge amount to celebrate. It was the Junior House Supper and Christmas jumper day on Wednesday. Thank you to the catering staff for a lovely Christmas dinner for all the Year 7 to 9 pupils across all six houses. We then headed back to the houses for an afternoon of incredible Karaoke singing. Each year group had a duet performance then a whole year group "boy band" performance. It was an incredible afternoon with lots of laughter. It was a pleasure to see the boys having so much fun. Thank you, Mr Madigan, for organising the whole event. Thank you, Mr Micklem and the incredible Janice for judging the competition. Thanks also to our amazing Year 13 monitors for supporting the juniors throughout the term and again on Wednesday afternoon. Thursday evening was the turn of the seniors and yet again it was an incredible affair. This one was a black-tie event, not a Christmas jumper in sight. The boys looked incredibly smart, and they were brilliantly behaved throughout the evening. We were treated to yet another delicious meal in Big School and then it was back to the house for awards and James Bond/Casino themed evening. It was a pleasure to have the company of the year 13 pupils for pre-dinner drinks with my family on the private side. Thank you, Head of House William M, for organising such superbly funny house entertainment. Both the junior and senior events were excellent occasions and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate a wonderful term in Poole House. Charity information We will be pushing the boys to start planning some activities which they can be sponsored for. We will be raising money for the Percy Hedley Foundation, a local charity which provides special education, care, support, accommodation, and lifelong learning for people with disabilities. More information on the wonderful work they do may be found on their website here; https://www.percyhedley.org.uk/ Keep an eye out for the events the boys have planned, and please do support the boys with this.
