MacLeod House

As we reach the end of a wonderfully busy term, there is a definite feeling in the House that everyone is a little tired and very ready for the Christmas break.

This final week has been a real highlight, not least because of our much-loved House suppers. On Wednesday, our Junior girls enjoyed a lovely afternoon together, filled with traditional party games, dancing and even some karaoke. It was such a pleasure to spend that time with them, and I would like to thank the girls for being such excellent company and for throwing themselves so enthusiastically into the fun.

Thursday evening then saw our Year 10–13 girls take their turn with black-tie House suppers. The girls looked absolutely sensational – it always makes me feel rather old to see them looking so grown-up and elegant! We enjoyed an evening of traditional games, modern board games, and, of course, plenty of singing and dancing. It was a fantastic night, full of laughter, and I was so grateful to the girls for embracing the spirit of the evening so wholeheartedly. A special thank you to our wonderful matron Wendy for putting together a fabulous charcuterie board which was a very welcome treat towards the end of the night.

We were also able to come together for the Christmas tradition of Nine Lessons in the Cathedral, which is always such a special moment of calm and reflection. It felt like the perfect way to end a busy and joyful term. As we begin the festive break, I would like to wish all our MacLeod House families a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful, Healthy and Happy 2026. We look forward to seeing the girls back in the House on Tuesday 13th January.
