Lodge House
Friday, 12 December 2025

This week has seen us in full prep mode for the charity craft sale. The range of items on offer is wonderful and so many of the girls have given up their time to help stick, glue, sew and cook up these festive treats. At the time of writing we haven't had the sale, but I am hopeful that next week I can report on its success and the amount of money we raised for the Zambezi Sunrise Trust. If you couldn't make the sale but would still like to donate please use the link below,

It was lovely to welcome John and Joanne Gillette into Lodge on Friday morning. It gave us a chance to show them all the hard work the girls have put into raising money for them, but it also gave the girls an opportunity to find out more about the charity's work. We watched videos of the ladies in Zambia using the sewing machines we helped fund and passed over letters to exchange with the girls at the school.

Next week is the last week of term and there are a variety of things going on. By now you should have received an email with full details from School, but I wanted to remind you and your daughter/s of the following:

• Studies need to be tidy, and all belongings taken home by Friday.

• Monday and Tuesday are normal teaching days.

• Wednesday is Christmas jumper day for the whole school. Minimum donation to charity is £1. Years 7, 8 & 9 will have their House Lunch in the afternoon. The event will end at 4.20pm but the House will be open as usual for those in any year that need to stay later.

• Thursday is a normal teaching day. Years 10-13 have House Suppers in the evening. Years 7-9 should go home at 4.20 if possible. If they can't, or they are waiting for the school buses then they will be looked after in the Lecture Theatre.

• Friday is normal up to P6 when, instead of Chapel, the girls will make sure their studies are tidy and emptied of all belongings and, if there's time, we will put on a film. The cathedral service starts at 5.30pm and parents are warmly invited to attend the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. If you are collecting your daughter/s from cathedral after this service then you must let their tutor or me know before the event.

Finally, please could you check that you don't have anyone else's games kit at home. We have loaned out multiple items of games kit this term from our spares but have not received them back. This means we now don't have them to hand out in an emergency. We are missing several pairs of tracksuit bottoms.

Have a great weekend.
