Bungites

This week has felt a little bit like the calm before the storm as we build to the end of term celebrations next week. that being said, there has still be lots happening and the boys have been busy.

Sports

It has been a very emotional week for our senior rugby players who pulled on the green and white for the last 15 a side game of the season and their final one for Durham on Tuesday afternoon. The hard work that is required to earn the right to wear the jersey is immeasurable and the boys should be rightly very proud of all they have achieved. Fergus F (1st XV), Andrew S (1st XV), Pardeep L (1st XV), Mason A (2nd XV), Billy S (2nd XV), Noah M (2nd XV) and Hedley W (1st XV) have been fantastic ambassadors for the club and can leave knowing they have withheld the standards to which the rugby club is built. Lower down the school, our Junior Rugby players won the Annual House Rugby competition in what turned out to be an excellent afternoon of games. A fairly comfortable win over Poole was the backed up with a narrow 6-5 win over Caffitnites meaning the boys got to bring the trophy back to Bungites.

DHM Diary

The long, dark nights have well and truly drawn in this week, and the thoughts of the junior boys have understandably shifted to the last week of term and the celebrations that contains. For year seven pupils, it is their first experience of house suppers and I know they are looking forward to the Christmas lunch and entertainment that will follow - I know that I am!

The week just gone was very much 'business as usual', but we have seen some fantastic efforts in the classroom and a huge number of lauds awarded. Congratulations go to Cooper C, James S and Thomas X who achieved the joint highest number of lauds across the week in years 7 to 10. The week ended with the ever-competitive house rugby competition, during which the boys performed admirably. And hot off the press... huge congratulations to the year 7 and 8 contact team who were crowned overall winners. The trophy already has pride of place in the house, and every member of the team should be very proud.

Housekeeping

We will be cleaning lockers next week and the whole house (besides boarders' belongings) needs to be emptied. Matron has started this process and has unearthed some quite horrific unwashed swimming towels!

Have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you tonight for drinks.
