With one of the highlights of the Chorister's annual repertoire, advent began for Pimlico boarders on Saturday. Not all boarders would naturally have chosen to attend the Advent Procession in the Cathedral, not least because of the walk there in the torrential rain, but no-one could deny that the event was truly excellent and many voiced their real appreciation of the music, atmosphere and message. Hot chocolate and mince pies back home later brought a whiff of seasonal festivities to the scene and we all began to think of the countdown to Christmas. On which note, Pimlico CR decorations went up this week, and many studies are now also decked with twinkles and sparkles, ready for the study competition of the last week. It's hard to remember that we still have two weeks left with all the distractions of tinsel and baubles. That said, the last week is very much on the horizon, and girls need to prepare. A letter has been sent to you about arrangements for this, but please note that years 7-9 will enjoy their Christmas party in the afternoon of Wednesday 17th December and years 10 -13, in the evening of Thursday 18th. The House will close on Friday 19th December at 19.00. Please arrange for collection of your daughter by that time and please note that ALL belongings must go home as the House needs to be left completely empty. Thank you for you help with these matters. Otherwise, our year 9 and 7 girls have been working hard through their craftwork and lucky dip respectively to raise more money for StrayAid and I'm delighted to say have brought our total up to £715, although more is still coming in. Well done to them! Again, our fundraising page is attached here should you feel inclined to help us reach our target. Thank you Pimlico Just Giving On matters charity-related, thank you to those girls who have brought in food for Father Simon's collection for 'Feeding Families'. The list of items that the charity needs is on the House team and girls are very much encouraged to give to this by Monday 8th December. Thank you. In other news Anna P; Clara MA and Danielle D were excited to visit London on Thursday as part of a Springboard initiative. Along with inevitable site-seeing and much posing for photos, the girls met and chatted to Princess Anne! Official photos to follow (we hope). Girls are also preparing for the secret Santa event which will see every member of the House receive a present from an anonymous 'Santa' in the last week of term. We encourage girls to spend between £3 and £5 (no more) and would like the presents delivered, wrapped and labelled by Friday 12th December. I hope this isn't too much trouble for people. Thank you. Finally, this week's Friday Fun award goes to Bel C: To be selected for the Scottish Rowing Performance Academy as part of the performance pathway for Scotland is a prestigious achievement. What a superstar! Have a lovely weekend. Boarders are enjoying the 'Advent Bus' this year which tells us who will receive a gift that day from the suitcase.
