Lodge House
Friday, 7 November 2025

Welcome back to the second half of term. It has been good to see the girls settle quickly back into the routines of school. The next few weeks will be busy as we head towards Christmas and there are various things happening around school.

First up is House Music. This event is being held on the 19th of November, after school, and all pupils are expected to attend. The school day will run as normal, but pupils will remain in school rather than going home. A hot meal will be provided, free of charge, to all pupils before the event begins at 6.30pm. The event should be finished at 8.30pm and the House will remain open until 8.45pm for pick-ups. We have several rehearsals between now and then. We will keep reminding them in House. At this point the songs are sounding good, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for a great final performance.

Well done to Jess B (Y10) for competing at the Horse of the Year Show just before we broke up. She had a fantastic time and made the most of the experience.

I must also say well done to Charlotte J (Y10) who competed at the Regional Swimming Finals last weekend. She put in some solid swims and finished 3rd in the 50m freestyle, her medal was presented by Olympian, James Wilby.

I would like to remind parents that school uniform policy states that pupils should be wearing the school coat, available from the Grays website, not their own coats. We are seeing a rise in puffy coats now the weather has turned chillier so please can you make sure your daughter has the correct coat for school.

Next week sees Lumiere return on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. School will be open as usual. The only change is that school transport on Friday will leave at 4.30pm.

Also, Friday the 14th is Odd Socks Day in support of Anti-Bullying week. Pupils can wear odd socks with their uniform.

This Friday is our Open House for parents, and Miss Black and I look forward to welcoming you all to Lodge House.
