From the Principal

As the first Half draws to a close, I am certain all are ready for the holiday and a well-deserved rest. As ever, they have been seven busy weeks of lessons, games, and activities, and on a personal note, I offer my thanks to all pupils, parents, and staff for the very warm welcome I have received; it has been a delight.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of attending the Independent School of the Year Awards at the Law Society in London and, in case you missed the news [!], it was a delight to receive the award for the Northern region on behalf of the Foundation. As you might rightly expect, the award highlighted our contribution to partnerships, the School's strong role in fostering community and identity, and the grounded but ambitious education our pupils receive. I offer my thanks to all pupils and staff, and to Kieran McLaughlin, for their work in achieving this award.

Tomorrow, of course, sees the 175th anniversary celebrations for the foundation of the School Football Club; the afternoon offers matches start from 12pm, and festivities will culminate in the gala dinner for almost 400 guests at the Ramside Hall. I do hope you are able to join us for some of this special event.

However and wherever you and your family will spend it, I offer my best wishes on behalf of all at the Foundation for this holiday in the midst of the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
