It has been quite the whirlwind of activity at Chorister School this last week! The school council's Day at the Movies event last Friday was a day full of fun and new experiences for many children. Everyone seized the opportunity to throw themselves into the day's activities from the red carpet arrival in the morning to the Oscar ceremony in the afternoon. Our fundraising for the NSPCC now totals just over £350. Following Chorister Experience Day at the Cathedral on Saturday, we had our first ever Chorister School Open Week, providing the opportunity for prospective families to come in to school on a normal working day. We have had over 20 families visit us over the course of the week, and it has been a pleasure to show them around school and to see what makes Chorister School so distinctive. Dr Alderson and I travelled to London on Tuesday for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards, for which the Foundation had been nominated and was then announced winner for Independent School of the North. We are beyond proud to have received this compliment. The award is currently on display in the reception at Chorister School. A week of so many varied achievements has been rounded off today with our Harvest Festival Assembly and support of Wear Red Day for Show Racism the Red Card. Thank you for all contributions of Harvest, which will be donated to the Durham Food Bank today. Wishing all our families an enjoyable half term break. |
