This half term seems to have come and gone in a flash. The girls have been so busy with various events in school from School Production auditions and rehearsals, sports fixtures, music recitals and concerts, House Music rehearsals, House socials and charity events. The girls have really thrown themselves into life at Durham School and I am thrilled with how involved our new girls have been and to our existing girls who have made them feel so welcome. 

As I leave school today to start my maternity leave, I know that MacLeod is in the best hands possible with Mrs Gowland taking over as Acting Senior Housemistress and Mrs Wilkinson taking over as Acting Deputy Housemistress. Please remember to contact your daughter's tutor or Mrs Gowland and Mrs Wilkinson should you need to report absences or have any general queries. 

Whilst I will, of course, miss the girls, tutors and MacLeod in general, I am sure I will have my hands full! I look forward to seeing MacLeod girls on my return to see how much they have grown and hopefully with a good few house trophies on mantel mantelpiece! 

House Hockey 

Most year groups competed in House Hockey this week. It was great to see such passion for the houses and friendly but fierce competition.

The Senior competition has been postponed and will take place after half term. The final results will be announced after that competition has taken place.

Tuesday 25th November – Year 11 Social (4.30-6pm), Year 10 Parents Evening (6pm) Thursday 4th December – MacLeod Parents Mulled Wine and Mince Pies Event (5-6.15pm) 

Monday 8th December – Christmas Charity Bake Sale
