Poole House
Friday, 17 October 2025

It has been yet another busy week in the house, this week the whole foundation has been taking part in Equality diversity inclusion (EDI) week. The week started with Introduction to the theme of Prejudice by Dr Alderson. Why equality, diversity, and inclusion matter? Following this there have been a number of different activities in the house during break times and lunch times, which have been ran by our Wellbeing ambassador Jack R (Year 13). It has been great to see the boys throw themselves into the activities and it has been fascinating listening to the stories and debates in house. Thank you to Mrs Thompson for organising a great week, and opening debate around such an important topic.

As we approach the half term Holidays, I would like to thank all the boys in the house for their efforts, be that in the classroom, on the sports field, in the Theatre or music rooms, or during one the many after school activities. In particular to our year 7 pupils a huge thank you and well done, for settling in to Poole House life so quickly, and to the year 13 boys for being so supportive of our new Pooelites.

Charity information

We will be pushing the boys to start planning some activities which they can be sponsored for after the half term holidays. We will be raising money for the Percy Hedley Foundation, a local charity which provides special education, care, support, accommodation, and lifelong learning for people with disabilities. More information on the wonderful work they do may be found on their website here; https://www.percyhedley.org.uk/.

Keep an eye out for the events the boys have planned, and please do support the boys with this.
