From The Headmistress of Chorister School
Friday, 3 October 2025

The turn of the month and darkening mornings have brought a very autumnal feel to the week which has seen an increasing number of rain showers. We aim to get outside as much as we possibly can, so please ensure your child has appropriate clothing.

Across the week, we have seen a number of sporting fixtures – Year 3s U8 Tag Rugby Festival at Barnard Castle, U8 Hockey at Mowden Hall, U11 Hockey and Rugby at GSAL, mixed U11 Hockey at Teesside and the Y1-3 Cross Country at Mowden Hall! What a week of teamwork!

In Prep assembly this morning, I used the theme of teamwork as we celebrated the work across school this week. The message: 'Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships' (Michael Jordan)

Our team of Cathedral Choristers have shared their work with the wider school this week and it has been wonderful to see even our youngest EYFS pupils learning about the choir and trying on cassocks. Sunday is International Chorister Day, along with Girls' weekend. We hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever your plans.
