Road Closures for Lumiere 2025

Durham Council have informed us, that there will be a temporary traffic regulation order in place to facilitate the Lumiere event which will take place between 31/10/2025 to 21/11/2025 for installation builds and removal.

Please note that those areas marked contingency are not anticipated to be closed, but will be included as an emergency fallback position only, so need to be included in the temporary order.

1. Road Closures to all vehicles, including pedal cycles and hand carts (except those pre-approved by the organiser) daily between 1300 hrs* and 0200 hrs (and applicable to pedestrian access between 1700 and 2200 except for event ticket holders) (red on attached plan) but excluding emergency service vehicle access (*Vehicles permitted to exit to 1400 hrs each day).
