Bungites
Friday, 26 September 2025

Another busy week in Bungites comes to an end and it feels like the weeks are over before they start! The big news this week... House Music rehearsals started this morning so please use every possible opportunity to play 'Summer of 69' by Bryan Adams. This will be our Whole House Song which means everyone needs to know it! House Music will be in Chapel this year (19th November) and I am sure there will be recordings of the evening as unfortunately parents won't be able to attend.

Sport

Big game for the 2nd XV on Wednesday against local rivals RGS Newcastle. The boys played some great stuff with a few chances missed early doors. After a close game, the boys ended up wining by 28 - 21. Tom R, Archie S and Simon G all in action and playing well in what was a physical game. Pardeep L and Noah M used their pace to get in behind with Hedley W being the clam head the team (quite frequently!) needed. All of the Bungites boys fronted up well and it was great to see a range of year groups representing the school. Our 12 & U13 contact and touch teams were also in action this week with a block fixture against Barnard Castle School.

Charity

The boys have chosen to support Movember this year with plans being drawn up for events throughout the month. Zac H and Pardeep L are fronting up the programme. Our aim is to ensure that all of the boys take part so when fundraising begins, please support them with their efforts in gathering sponsorship! In the past, we have raised a lot of money as well as raised awareness for the work the charity does.

House Pool Competition

The pool competition is reaching the latter stages and it won't be long until I can announce the winner. The standard is worryingly high given I have offered a cash prize (which I mistakenly assumed I'd not have to award!). You will be pleased to know that I have navigated the early rounds with ease having dispatched of 2 juniors and one year 12. Should I get beat, I may have to leave the country given the complete lack of grace I have shown in victory.

Boarding

Our boarders enjoyed a fantastic afternoon go-karting last weekend and our thanks go to the team over at Karting North- East for their exceptional hospitality. In what (thankfully!) turned out be favourable conditions the racing was excellent. this weekend the boarders are off to Seaham for a stroll along the beach, an ice-cream and some fresh, North Easterly air.

House Keeping

Not a great deal to report or request this week. Lockers continue to be an issue for some and I have had to apply recharges (£5) for some who have lost their lock. This is hopefully behind us and we can move forward!

Please let me know if you are able to attend drinks on the 12th December. Lots coming already and I am very much of the 'more the merrier' mindset.

I wish you all a restful weekend.
