From the Principal

The Lower School production of Shrek this week was a fantastic showcase for the very talented and hard-working cast. It's been many weeks and months in rehearsal but it was all worth it for joyful performances that made us laugh, and learn about the power of true love. The Drama department and all the children involved, whether on the stage or behind the scenes, deserve a huge round of applause and a long rest.

The rest of this week has been filled with adventure. Duke of Edinburgh expeditions took place in the Peak District and were enjoyed by all who took part (barring a small bout of food poisoning). Most of Year 12 are beginning their university application process in Newcastle, attending open days at both universities in the city. Last night, the Cathedral launched its Vision 2033 programme and our Choristers sang Evensong to a packed Quire. Many of the attendees commented on how beautifully they sang, and I was once again grateful that we are lucky enough to have them among our pupil body.

Finally, we have had a small group of Taiwanese pupils visiting this week and they have enjoyed immersing themselves in our culture and the school environment. Thanks to all the buddies who looked after the visitors and I wish them a safe trip back to Taiwan.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend and are looking forward to Activities Week
