Thank you to everyone who attended our Farewell to Bow event on Sunday; it was a nostalgic event filled with stories and memories from former and present pupils, staff and parents. As we prepare to leave Bow when term finishes next week, I will share my thoughts and reflections in our half-term highlights. The penultimate week of school has been a busy and eventful one. From science experiments to singing competitions, outdoor adventures to new beginnings, our pupils have been learning, laughing, and making memories. Our annual Science Fair, on Monday, was a huge success! The school yard and sports hall were transformed into an investigation arena as pupils proudly showcased their experiments, inventions, and discoveries. The creativity and curiosity on display were truly inspiring. Thank you to all families who came to support the event – your enthusiasm meant so much to our budding scientists. On Tuesday, we held our eagerly awaited Move-Up Day. Pupils met their new teachers and talked about routines for the new school year, giving them a taste of what September will bring. Our Year 6 pupils also enjoyed their transition sessions in preparation for their move to Durham School. The staff were proud of how confidently all of our children embraced the change. There have been several trips this week, marking end of term topics and end of year celebrations. Year 1 had a wonderful time exploring the Botanic Gardens and Year 2 enjoyed a hands-on visit to Poplar Tree Garden Centre. Whilst our youngest learners, in EYFS, had a delightful day out at Hall Hill Farm! Joyful and educational experiences, full of smiles and fun. Today, members of our Galilee Choir and some of our Choristers are taking part in a collaborative workshop with St John's School in Bishop Auckland. Continuing with music news, well done to all who participated in the Michael James Music Competition this week; finalists were announced in assembly this morning ahead of Monday's event. As we prepare for the final week of term, please read the update carefully for day to day reminders. |
