Pupil Edward, Launches Sensory Site
Friday, 20 June 2025

Year 10 pupil Edward N has recently launched a charitable website called Public Toilet Info, which helps people find public toilets that are suitable for those with sensory sensitivities.

Visiting public toilets can be a major source of anxiety for individuals with sensory issues, due to sudden noises, strong smells, and unpredictable features like hand dryers and air fresheners. This is why Edward, and other volunteers (including his mother), started to note details of toilets, which would then become this website, which shows very detailed information (e.g. hand dryer information) so people can find toilets which are suitable for them.

There are a variety of ways through which people can support this project. More information can be found at publictoiletinfo.org.uk. For safeguarding reasons, DCSF staff and volunteers are asked to read a short infographic about how they can and can't interact with the website, as it is managed by a pupil. This can be found here.
