Bungites
Friday, 20 June 2025

Today is one of my favourite days of the school year as Year 13 have now finished their public exams. For many, they can again begin to function as normal humans having spent the past month in an exam revision bubble! The overriding consensus is that the exams have gone well and everyone seems happy with their papers. The boys can now relax and enjoy the end of term celebrations. Today we have welcomed a few of next year's Year 12 into the house and it was great to meet some future Bungites.

Parents are welcome to attend and should arrive at Top Ground (the fields above the astroturf) for around 9.00am, presentations will take place at approx. 12.30pm.

1pm- House Closes for the summer (please note, there will be no school transport that day so the boys will need to be collected).

Saying Goodbye

This weekend we say goodbye to Yunhao and Ian and we wish him well with their future studies. Both boys have been fantastic members of School House and supported both us and their peers during their time with us. We will miss them greatly and are extremely proud of all they have achieved.

Boarding

Some of the boys were at the Theatre last night watching Hamilton and a great night was had by all. This weekend, our boarders are heading to Tynemouth to do some surfing- what a day that will be for them!

Cake Sale and Charity

We will be having a cake sale on Thursday 26th June with all money raised going towards our House Charity Event on Thursday 3rd July. Please do encourage the boys to get involved! A gentle reminder that we are a nut free school and if I could ask that an ingredients list is placed on any cake boxes. As you know, we always go 'all in' for our sales and this year we will be no different! I am envisaging cake, music, the sun and lots of great food!

For those who don't know, we will be heading up to Mrs Heeley's son's care home to improve their outdoor space. Cameron lives there full time and the home provides 24 hour care for him and other young people. This is a cause that could not be closer to our hearts and any donations or help would be gratefully accepted. We will need to buy PPE, small/large planting pots, paint, big rubbish bags, plants and, if we can raise enough, a large sail so that Cameron and his friends can sit outside and enjoy the weather (this has been a goal for them for some time but due to spending restrictions, they have not been able to do it). I visited the home yesterday and the staff are so grateful for our help and it would be great to make the home a nicer place to be.

House Keeping

We will be emptying lockers next Friday as the boys will no longer need them. This should hopefully mean that all dirty kit will make its way back to you!
