Pimlico House
Friday, 20 June 2025

Reflecting on the past week in Pimlico, it's easy to see examples of our MARK values in action.

Certainly, the 'A' for Ambition rang loud and clear in last night's concert as girls (and boys) took to the stage to perform a wide array of music, much of it incredibly challenging. I've been to multiple concerts in school over the years, but yesterday's was the first to showcase an organ solo and one, moreover, played only with the feet! A great feat by Aroa, if you will excuse the pun. Further highlights included Clara MA's highly technical, yet effervescent, performance of 'Mein Herr Marquis', some challenging but beautiful chamber singing (Tabitha; Clara MA; Clemmie; Sophia M) and a jazz ensemble, involving Josephine. Well done also to our accomplished flautists (Frances; Tabitha; Bethany; Bobbi and Sofia T) and those who performed piano duets, (Yichenxi, Tabitha, Clemmie and Aroa).

But, as our cricketers continue to hone their skills on the field and girls keep training hard in their respective sports, music is certainly not the only 'A'. In fact, this very letter is even written through her name as Anna A makes it to her goal of becoming part of the North of England triathlon squad. This ambition is only achievable thanks to her determination and disciplined training. Well done to Anna!

I like to think of K, for kindness, as a constant feature of Pimlico House but this week it involved: Welcoming someone new into friendship groups, year 12 monitors organising fun activities to bring people together and some year 7s accompanying a girl on her own to lunch. Long may these acts of kindness continue! Whilst 'M' (moral integrity) is often the most difficult virtue of the four, there have nonetheless been examples this week of self-reflection and of owning up to things that are wrong. Girls are always commended for facing the truth about themselves, even if the consequences of wrongdoing still have to play out. As for 'R' for responsibility, I hope specific examples of this will become apparent in the days ahead. In the longer term, it will mean acting on the advice given in reports and taking responsibility for improvement. In the shorter term and, following my repeated requests, it will mean ensuring that all studies are emptied of all belongings by the end of next week!

Thank you to parents and guardians for helping girls complete this task by Friday 27th June, at the latest.

As we look then to the final week, please be aware of the following:

• Girls must be dressed and equipped for all their activities as per the letters sent home

• Thursday will require all girls to take part in the morning's community event and, in the afternoon, either to partake in or to watch the cricket.

• All girls must attend Sports Day on Friday 4th July. We ask too that those year 11s and 13s still around come and support us. Thank you.

• School will finish at 13.00 on Friday 4th July. Please note that there will be no school transport that day.
