It has been a whirlwind of activity this week at Chorister School and it has been a pleasure to see so many parents in school supporting their children's endeavours. Swimming galas and displays, Year 4 Book Looks, several cricket fixtures and a special Year 6 service in the Cathedral, not to mention the outstanding Art Exhibitions at both sites. My very great thanks go to Mrs Barber for her inspirational lead in bringing out the children's creativity and hard work, and, together with Dr Wilson, putting the displays together for everyone to enjoy. We will share a recording of the displays with everyone soon. A special mention this week to our U11 tennis team who went to Dame Allan's School in Newcastle for the North East Junior Schools Festival. This was a valuable and exciting opportunity for some of the team who had yet to experience competitive tennis. A special mention must go to Teddy H (Year 6) and Eldwin A (Year 4), who were runners-up in the Boys Doubles—a fantastic achievement and something they should be incredibly proud of! Next week sees Year 6's production, "The Jungle Book". This important project not only forms part of the English curriculum but also teaches lifelong skills of confidence, public speaking and performance. Our audiences at the two performances next week are in for a treat! This evening our girl choristers start their girls weekend, including a special Evensong on Saturday with York Minster. We are also delighted to welcome Durham Cathedral's Scholars for a special concert at Cathedral site on Sunday afternoon. |
