Pimlico House
Friday, 16 May 2025

It is a real pleasure this week to be able to announce our new Monitor team in Pimlico and indeed Head of School as follows:

Head of School: Sophie Saxton

Head of Pimlico House: Georgia Metcalfe

Deputy Head of Pimlico: Bel Cain

Monitors: Hannah Ridley Anna Benedys

House Monitor: Nicoleta Josan

We heartily congratulate all these girls and I am certainly looking forward to working with them very soon. I'm sure they have very exciting plans for Pimlico!

However, it would be entirely remiss of me not to thank the outgoing team of: Matilda A, Molly H, Rosa B, Lucy G and Milly R. Reliable, positive, supportive and fun to spend time with, this has been a fantastic group of monitors: I have nothing but praise for them and happy memories of time spent with them. Thank you.

Sadly, yet inevitably, with any selection process, some girls today were left disappointed. I hope they feel reassured that they are still very much recognised for their individual strengths and talents and, although left feeling flat today, will meet with success in an application for leadership on a different occasion.

Pimlico Events

In other news, there is no sense yet of a lapse in the pace despite the fast-approaching half-term break. Indeed, Pimlico girls are at full speed as they race through their days, busy with cricket, rowing, Shrek rehearsals, academic and musical clubs and, needless to say, revision for exams. It was a pleasure this week to hear commendations in chapel for Matilda C and Bel C for their cricket and rowing, respectively, but I know that many in our midst are working hard at their sport.

To add to the buzz, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday lunch times saw a hive of Common Room activity in aid of Mental Health awareness week. From dreamcatchers, to Kahoot to designing book marks, year 12 girls had some great ideas and involved younger and older girls alike in some needed 'down' and catch 'up' time.

Speech Day

This time next week will be upon us before we know it. As per Mr. Pearson's letter, please note the arrangements for Friday 23rd May:

• Pimlico House closes to day pupils at 4.30pm

• Any pupils wishing to stay on site will be supervised in the Lecture Theatre and taken, with the boarders, to Prize Giving.

• Tea can be provided, but must be requested via the form that is linked to Mr. Pearson's letter.

• All pupils need to be seated in Cathedral at 7.00pm. Day pupils join their Houses directly in Cathedral.

• After the service, day pupils may leave from Cathedral or walk back to School but may not regain entry to Houses.

• Pimlico House will close to boarders at 9.30pm

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to another fast, but final, week of the half term.
