Lodge House
Friday, 9 May 2025

This week we had the last official day for the Year 11's and the Year 13's. I always get quite reflective at this time of the year, seeing how pupils have grown, progressed and flourished throughout their time here and seeing what their next step or chapter is. The majority of the Year 11's will be staying with us, with the exception of Natalie, who we say a very sad farewell too. Natalie is a complete ray of sunshine and we will miss her positivity, smile and infectious giggle. We wish her all the best in her next adventure and hope she comes back to visit – even if it is just for the rowing! The Year 13's plans are obviously not set in stone, but there are lots of admirable aspirations; from Veterinary Science to traveling the world! It has seemed to be a very fast and challenging year and I sincerely with them all good luck.

Lodge House Fundraising

On Tuesday we took a minibus full of girls up to St Cuthbert's Hospice to officially donate our total fundraising amount of £1700! It was a lovely celebration and a chance for them to see the grounds of the Hospice. Well done to all involved in the huge fundraising effort, the Hospice were very grateful for our effort and impressed with the amount we raised.

School photos took place on Wednesday, including sports teams, leavers and house photos. Another one of many firsts for us as we came together to make history with our first House photo and I hope the girls felt as proud as I did, making our mark in history.

As you receive this, we will be enjoying the sun in the garden, celebrating with our VE Day Tea Party! I thank pupils and parents for their help and support with this and the various other events which have gone on through the year. As mentioned, all proceeds from the event will go to The Zambesi Sunrise trust – total amount will be published.

Lady of Lodge

Last week's Lady of Lodge went to Miah for her growth and maturity throughout Year 7. She has shown such resilience this year and has made good progression in both her academic ability and personal growth. Well done.

This week's Lady of Lodge goes Luna (Yr 7) who has also made some great progress this year in both her confidence and resilience. She also was one of the pupils who got Confirmed in the Cathedral over the Easter Holidays at 5am! She bravely put herself forward for a Chapel Choir audition this week and was accepted to be part of the group.
