It's been a lovely week hearing all about the adventures and happenings of the Easter break. From Rowing Camps in Rotterdam to Confirmation services in the Cathedral and meeting the King(!); the girls seem to have done it all over the three-week break. Weekly Goings On It has been a beautifully sunny week, and the girls have been enjoying the sunshine. We have been fortunate to have been gifted some garden furniture from Isobel's (Yr 8) parents – thank you very much for this – the girls are loving being able to sit out in the garden and do some studying or enjoy a cup of tea! It has been a joy to see them outside enjoying the sun and utilising the lawn at the front of the House too. This week has seen the start of the GCSE exams which have been kicked off with Art, DT and Drama practical assessments, along with the spoken language exams. The girls have, as usual, stepped up to the challenge of these and although I know there is stress and anticipation present, they do very well to keep calm and collected. This morning, we took some time to enjoy some calm and say a 'formal' farewell to the Year 11 pupils who will leave next Wednesday. Although we know they will be in and out of school, their official last day will be Wednesday 7th of May. We wish them the best of luck in their studies, and I am sure they will get what they deserve and reap the rwards of all their hard work! VE Day Celebration We are hosting a VE Day Afternoon Tea Party on Friday 9th May in Lodge House garden! This will be a fun social event for Lodge House girls, parents and staff, where tea, cake, games, music and a raffle will all be in abundance. Tickets are £5 and all proceeds go to the Zambezi Sunrise Trust; please purchase via the parent pay portal before Friday 2nd of May. If you would prefer to buy tickets with cash, please send your daughter in with the money and let us know how many tickets you would like. Please could I ask for any contributions to the raffle to be handed to Lodge House staff by Friday 2nd May – Thank you! This will be our last big charity push for the year, and I just want to say how amazingly the girls have done will all the events and socials so far - thank you so much for your support!
