What a wonderful week in the house. It is such a pleasure to see the boys back and full of the joys of spring; the wonderful weather outside has made a huge difference. It has also been excellent to see Years 11 and 13 extremely focused on their upcoming exams, some of which have already started. Poole House Fundraising As I am sure some of you will remember, last year was the centenary year of Poole House and we held a celebratory BBQ and garden party. Through the sales of tickets, drinks and a raffle on the day, we managed to raise a good amount of money with the aim of improving the outside space around Poole House for the boys. During the Easter break work started on creating some outside seating for the boys. A firepit area has been created with enough seating for 20-25 pupils. It is fantastic, and we can't wait for it to be completed. A huge thanks must go to Mr Simpson for all his hard work, and he had a very able assistant in Eden. Speaking of fundraising, during the holidays several boys completed some incredible challenges and raised a huge amount of money in the process. Sam H and Matthew R completed 27km of their 100km challenge. Sam H has also been baking and selling cakes and incredibly has managed to raise £175.22 in the process. William M completed a 26 mile walk along Hadrian's wall. Ethan J and James C have completed 58.68km of their 250km cycling challenge. Joseph P and his dad have completed the incredible challenge of cycling coast to coast over three days, that's 135 miles. 57 miles day one, 47 miles day 2 and finally 31 miles on day three. Joseph has raised over £1150 for @mndassoc by himself. What an outstanding effort. Due to this incredible effort the donations to the House charity have been coming in thick and fast and we have currently raised £3473. I am really looking forward to seeing how much more we can raise during this term.
