I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break; we were certainly lucky with the weather in Durham and I have heard lots of exciting stories from the girls and their holiday adventures. The girls who travelled to Rotterdam on the rowing trip certainly seemed to have a wonderful time and it sounds like it was excellent preparation for the regattas coming up this term. We are fully back into the swing of things now with a short, yet action packed half term ahead. A reminder that Durham School will be closed on Monday for the Bank Holiday, we will return on Tuesday 6th May. We are excited to share that we have purchased a number of items for MacLeod with the money we raised during our Christmas Hamper Raffle (the other half of the money going to our House Charity, The Winnie Mabaso Foundation). Next week we will welcome the arrival of a table tennis table for the common room which will cause much competition and excitement, I am sure! Mr Middleton and Mrs Myers-Bruin are already discussing tactics! We have also bought some kitchen appliances which will enable us to do a variety of activities with the girls at socials, including baking, cookery and supper clubs. We are confident that these purchases will benefit all the girls and increase the variety of activities that we can offer in MacLeod and of course, add healthy competition between tutor groups and across the age groups. Dunelm Run – FINAL RESULTS! I am thrilled to announce that following the results being calculated from the Dunelm on the last week of term. On the topic of our victory in the Vallance Relays, the results are as follows: Junior Run – 1st place Swainston (Intermediates) Run – 1st place Dunelm (Senior) Run – 1st place Overall – 1st place!!!
