Firstly, my thanks go to the Music Department for the excellent Spring concert last night in the Chapel. It was a slight departure in format, and the ability to perform a longer piece in Faure's Requiem allowed the Chapel choir to really show their expertise. The instrumental half was equally impressive and great to see new ensembles such as the flautists being introduced so successfully – well done. My thanks too to the games staff who made the various six-hour shuttle runs to Rosslyn Park again this year. The 7s competition is quite a feat, and I know the boys enjoyed their time there. Particular congratulations to the U16s who qualified for their "second day". It is hard to believe the end of term is almost upon us, and I should plug the Friends' Spring Garden Party which takes place next Friday from 3.30 pm. If the weather is like today, then it promises to be glorious, so do come along; on a personal note, it will be good to see so many of you who I have known even if only briefly, and an opportunity for me to wish you farewell (don't worry, no speeches…) |
