The boarders' trip out to Roseberry Topping last Sunday brought a smile to faces and an injection of much needed oxygen as we approach the end of a long and demanding term. Those who grumbled that it was a 'bit tough towards the end' may find themselves on more hills next term since practice is clearly what's needed! Sadly, I've not yet managed to execute my plan of closing Pimlico for a day to take all boarders out to a remote and steep incline, but that doesn't mean it won't happen! Experience also tells me that no walk in the country is ever a cause for regret. Pimlico Sport I was very pleased to see a last-minute rallying spirit kick in on Wednesday in response to an urgent call for reinforcements made by our netball squad. Big thanks to Varia, Sophia M, Diana and Bernice for stepping into the breach and making up the team and to Rosa, Hannah T, Sophie S and Milly for leading them. The team did us proud and we came a cosy second in the Senior Inter-House Netball Competition. Please could I ask for a similar spirit to be displayed on Monday when Pimlico enters that much-loved Dunelm run?! As I say every year, what matters most is that we enter, that we do so with all our girls and that we put on an excellent display of sporting spirit and good humour. Clearly running up multiple hills in the mud isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that's not really the point. I would ask that all girls enter in solidarity with each other, encourage each other and do their best at whatever level that may be. Pizza, Prizes and Pimlico Puzzlers Thank you to Lucy G this week for organising a much-needed social event for the year 12s and 13s. With pizza, prizes and the 'Pimlico Puzzlers' (my team, of course!), how could anyone not have fun?! It marks the (almost) end of year 13s' time in school and we wish them continued success as they drift into study leave and become less visible. As an aside, but no less importantly, Lucy spoke at the regional school's sports conference again this year in Jesmond and got herself on the radio. I believe we can hear this on: Looking ahead to next week, please can I remind parents and guardians that Pimlico House closes at 4.30pm on Friday 4th April and that girls must be collected by then. Since the House will be let during the holidays, all belongings must be taken home and studies and bedrooms left completely empty. As always, thank you for your assistance with this. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
