Poole House
Friday, 28 March 2025

It has been a wonderful week in the house. With the sun shining, the boys are always smiling. This week the house has been a lot quieter with lots of boys out at Rosslyn Park 7s tournament and a Year 10 Geography field trip as well. On Thursday evening, the Spring concert took place, and it has been wonderful to see so many Pooleites involved.

It has also been very impressive to see the many hours of practice and rehearsals that have taken place. Well done to all involved. The fundraising continues for the MND association, and it has been a pleasure to hear of Joseph P's challenge of cycling from coast to coast during the easter holidays and he has already raised an incredible £175. Also, a huge congratulations to Elliot B who swam a mile. This means our collective total has now reached £1824. I look forward to hearing how our Pooleites get on with their challenges during the Easter holidays.

Rugby

A wonderful week of rugby at Rosslyn Park 7's starting with the 1st VII. The boys had a strong start and won all three games in their group and entered the eliminator match full of confidence. Unfortunately, in additional time, with the first team to score to progress Kings School Worcester scored a try against the run of play, meaning the 1st VII were out.

Pooleites involved, George B and Matthew H.

The under 14s were next up and started strongly winning their 1st two games. Unfortunately, in the final group game to decide which team went through to the second days play the under 14s lost a closely fought game.

Pooleites involved, James M, Zac M, Henry W and Edward C.

The under 16s were last to play and they had a brilliant day on their first day winning all three matches in the group and then the elimination match, meaning they progressed through to the 2nd days play. Unfortunately, the 2nd day didn't go to plan, however the boys should be extremely proud of what they have achieved.

Pooleites involved Toby H, William W, Kaidon P, Joseph S, Tom B,

Well done to all involved they did themselves and the house proud.

Thursday 27th March

Under 12 A Hockey V Barnard Castle Lost 2-1

Under 12 B Hockey V Barnard Castle Lost 2-0

Under 13B Hockey V Barnard Castle won 2-0

Under 13 A V RGS A and B won 3-0 and lost 2-1

Well done to all involved.

Rowing

Rowing review written by Ethan J

The Boat Club enjoyed another fantastic weekend of racing at Ponteland Head at the weekend, with Pooleites racing across all 3 divisions. Conditions were mild in Divisions 1 and 2, with the rain picking up slightly in Division 3.

Division 1

Ethan J and Alexander K both raced singles, putting down fast times in their respective categories J17 Op 1x, and J15 Op 1x (B2).

Division 2

Eden S and Will Ch both performed excellently in the J16 4x-, taking home a strong win by a gap of more than 1 minute 40 seconds against the St. Leonards crew. Ethan J also raced in the J17 2x alongside Johnny M (S), taking home a win against Tyne United, Tyne ARC and Talkin Tarn crews.

Division 3

William Ch raced in the J16 2x alongside Jason W (S) to secure a comfortable win in their category by a time gap of over 1 minute.

Overall a well-raced end to the head season, well done lads.
