Spring is in the air and it has been lovely to see pupils out on the Playground at lunchtime making the most of the sunny weather. It is hard to believe but the end of term is creeping up on us and the usual events are swinging into view. This week saw the Chadeyron music competition take place, and it was great to see so many pupils rise to the challenge of the competition. The full list of winners will be revealed in next weeks Presentation Assembly on 31 March but well done to all who took part. Similarly preparations for the Marsden public speaking competition are coming together too and I look forward to seeing the finalists in the last week of term. Advance notice too of everyone's favourite outdoor event, The Dunelm and Swainston runs, which will take place on Monday 31st March. Whilst I am very reluctant to break my long tradition of not running, I am sure the pavements and fields are taking a pounding at the moment as the more athletic members of the community put in the miles of training. House spirit is always the winner on the day and it is heartening to see the support the runners receive as they make their way round the challenging course. Finally, good luck to the boys who are travelling to London for the Rosslyn Park 7s competition next week; it is quite an event and I wish them luck in their various matches. |
