On Monday, 4 of our Year 12 girls presented in chapel about neurodiversity. Jess, Lottie, Millie and Imogen spoke brilliantly about the topic, giving many famous examples of people who deal with neurodiversity in their lives. Well done, girls. This week has seen the beginning of the Marsden Public Speaking Competition, it has been lovely to hear Mrs Swan report that so many girls have entered this year and we wait with bated breath for news of the finalists. The senior girls represented the 1st and 2nd VII played in the Durham Easter Tournament and placed 2nd and 4th overall. Finally, the U13s played Ampleforth yesterday with both teams losing narrowly but playing well to end the season. If girls are returning to school, they are asked to be collected at 6pm. Those getting the school bus home will be able to make their own way back to school in time for this – please can parents also confirm that they are happy with this arrangement by emailing Ms Hillyard. The cost of the social is £5 per person and is due to Mrs Myers-Bruin or Mrs Gowland by Friday 21st March. All of those who choose to attend will be offered a small amount of alcohol (and soft drinks), but if parents would like to withdraw permission for their daughter to consume alcohol, please email l.myers-bruin@dcsf.org.uk before the event. End of Term Collection A friendly reminder about collection on the day we break up for the Easter holiday on Friday 4th April. We have our chapel service at Durham Cathedral – it is a wonderful opportunity for the whole school community to come together in such a spectacular building. We will all return to the house at approximately 4pm so the girls can gather their belongings and be collected - MacLeod will close at 4.30pm latest, please ensure your daughter can be collected by that time and the school bus will go early at 4.30pm from the quad too. If you would like to collect your daughter straight from the Cathedral, please email me by Tuesday 1st April. All girls will be asked to clear their lockers and studies for this break so I suggest they start to take belongings home over the course of the final week. |
