It was a delight to see the whole school production of Pygmalion this week and it was a real triumph to see such confident and skilled performances. The play provided a fitting swansong for the lead actors and the dialogue allowed them to use their comedic skills well. I should also thank DR Stephen Cronin for his work not only on this production but on the very many others to which he has contributed over the years. I know he will be much missed by Mrs Brownlee and the team and I hope that this is not the end of our association with him. I am sure too that you will all enjoy hearing from Dr Cronin at this year's Speech Day. On that note, a reminder that Speech Day takes place slightly earlier this year on Friday 23rd May; it is an event which is compulsory for pupils so please do make a note of it in your calendars now. Elsewhere, there have been lots of activities for Science week and I know the pupils particularly enjoyed "demo day" yesterday; my thanks to Mrs Moore and the team who really do bring Science to life here at the school. Finally, I should mention the Friends' Barbecue event which also takes place slightly earlier this year – it will be held on the Playground on the last day of this term, April 4th. Please do come along from 4pm and enjoy what I am sure be a balmy Spring evening… |
