Many congratulations to all the girls who have been performing or helping with tech support in the School Production of Pygmalian this week. What a show it was!! We are incredibly proud of the girls and it has bee wonderful to see all of their talents on show! Well done, Emily K, Dana S, Chinmayi G, Emily P, Olivia T, Erin N, Niamh K, Isabella H, Parnia M, Nadia!

MacLeod Netball

This week our Inters (Year 9 and 10) and Juniors (Year 7 and 8) competed against Pimlico and Lodge in House Netball. The girls battled hard and showed excellent team work to produce some brilliant netball. The girls who were not playing, supported loudly from the side-lines and produced a feisty atmosphere for all the matches. In both age groups we had an A and a B team which shows the strength in depth we have in MacLeod. The overall results showed what talented netball players we have across all year groups as we WON both competitions!! Well done to all the girls.

The Seniors (Year 11, 12 and 13) will take to the court in two weeks and will aim to make it a clean sweep across all the age groups.

Spare Uniform

We have a small amount of spare uniform and games kit in MacLeod which we can lend to girls who forget certain items. Usually the girls are very good at returning, but this is a plea to parents, if your daughter has borrowed, please remind them to return so the items can be used by other girls.

We also have a small number of tights which can be lent out, but we do expect that the pair borrowed are washed and returned, or a new pair returned to the house stock, as soon as possible.

If any pupils/parents have any uniform or games kit which their daughter's have outgrown, we are always very grateful if the items can be donated to the house for spares.

MacLeod Socials

Sixth Form Social – Friday 28th March

The Sixth Form girls are invited to attend the Cheese and Wine Social on Friday 28th March (4.45-6.20pm) and are able to invite one person from another house (providing they return a permission slip from the parent/guardian). The cost of the social is £5 per person and is due to Mrs Myers-Bruin or Mrs Gowland by Friday 21st March. All of those who choose to attend will be offered a small amount of alcohol (and soft drinks), but if parents would like to withdraw permission for their daughter to consume alcohol, please email l.myers-bruin@dcsf.org.uk before the event.

MacLeod will close to all girls in Year 7-11 at 4.30pm on Friday 28th March due to this event but can wait for collection in Lodge House.

Year 9 Social – Tuesday 25th March

Ms Hillyard will be accompanying the Year 9 girls into Durham for tea on Tuesday 25th March. The girls are asked to bring their own money for this.

The girls may be collected from town – Ms Hillyard will need an email from parents confirming that they are happy for their daughter to leave the group and be collected.

If girls are returning to school, they are asked to be collected at 6pm.

Those getting the school bus home will be able to make their own way back to school in time for this – please can parents also confirm that they are happy with this arrangement by emailing Ms Hillyard.

MacLeod Congratulations

We are delighted that Poppy in Year 9 has been selected for England U15 Ice Hockey squad to compete in Lithuania against other nations across Europe in May. We are incredibly proud of Poppy and all the hard work she has been putting in and look forward to seeing how the tournament goes as we follow her promising career progress!

Well done to all the girls who have represented the School or House this week in House Netball, netball and swimming fixtures and the School Production.

Good luck to all those girls rowing this weekend!
