This week has been dominated by the final round of Christmas celebrations ahead of the end of the school term. EYFS delighted us with their performance of 'Dinky Donkey' on Wednesday, performing with marvellous expression and confidence. The story was beautifully told through poetry and song and was a magical retelling of the Nativity story. Special thanks go to Miss Hodgson who wrote the script and Mrs Murray who composed and arranged the musical numbers. What an incredibly talented pair! My thanks to all the EYFS team for their involvement. Christmas lunches across both sites have been delicious! The full festive fare was served and everyone, staff included, thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Thank you to the Catering Teams on both sites for a fabulous lunch! Today sees the annual House Christmas Carol Competition across both sites. Team spirit and festive cheer will definitely be in abundance! This evening we have our Foundation Carol Service in Durham Cathedral, a moment of reflection and coming together to mark the end of the school term. Following their weekend duties, the Choristers have a short exeat before the Christmas schedule in the Cathedral. Our thanks go to each of them for working so hard to make this such a special period for the local community. Barrington House staff will be working hard to support the Choristers through the period to the close of Christmas Day Evensong and I thank them too for their support and commitment. Best wishes to all for a restful Christmas and healthy new year.
