The school term has come to end, and the Choristers have certainly had a busy time. There's been music lessons, music exams, prep work, house events, sports matches, Eucharists, Matins, Evensongs, Cathedral rehearsals, Concerts, Girls Weekend, Boys Weekend, Advent Processions, Remembrance Sunday, a visit to Newcastle Cathedral, and over the next 12 days there's even more to fit in! Our Probationers and Chorister Elects begin their Christmas holidays after the DCSF carol service this evening. Well done for your effort and hard work this term and enjoy your time off. Tomorrow our Choristers are singing Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols which is guaranteed to be a magical musical journey back to the medieval monastery. On Sunday there is the service for the lighting of the tree and blessing of the crib, before the Choristers have an exeat until Wednesday when they return until Christmas Day. There's a busy Chorister period of rehearsals, services and fun activities and we'll be updating regularly on our Instagram @barringtonhousedcsf ______ I spent some time speaking to one of our Probationers (Bea) this morning to see how her first term in the Cathedral choir has been. How has this term been? Good and busy! What has been your favourite part of this term? Girls weekend, especially the climbing activity. What has been your favourite piece to sing? All the psalms. How have the other Choristers helped you? Clemmie, Julie and Penelope have looked after me. What are you looking forward to in the Christmas holidays? Watching Moana 2. What has been your favourite thing to do in school? Go on sports matches. |
