On Tuesday evening, our Year 7 students gathered for a fantastic Burger and Movie Night, and what a night it was! With Home Alone on the big screen and the BBQ fired up despite the brisk 2 degree chill in the air, the evening was a great success! The night was a perfect blend of food, fun, and festivity, showcasing the creativity and teamwork of our junior boys. Who knows? burger making could be the start of a culinary tradition! Good luck to Harry. G (Year 11), who is once again taking part in the Scottish National Swimming Championships today. With three races spread over the next three days, everyone in the House wishes him the very best of luck. I look forward to hearing on Monday how he gets on. The final week of term is approaching quickly, and it will be a very busy time for us all. The following information has already been sent to you by Mrs. Rochester, but the details below provide an outline of the week and the events your child will be involved in. Wednesday 11th December Christmas Jumper Day: Pupils must wear school uniform and are encouraged to wear a Christmas jumper and donate £2 to our House charity. Donations will be collected in House. 13:30: House Suppers for Years 7 to 10 All pupils, House staff, and Tutors will enjoy a Christmas lunch, followed by House entertainments and Christmas celebrations in Houses. Pupils will be expected to wear school uniform and a Christmas jumper. The afternoon will finish at 4.20pm, at the end of the school day. There will be no lunchtime or after-school activities on this day. Thursday 12th December Years 7-10: A normal school day for all. Day pupils need to take all their belongings home at the end of the day. Our Senior House Suppers will start at 5:45 pm. Important: Please can all Year 7 to 10 pupils be picked up by 4.30pm unless they are waiting for school transport, as we need to prepare the House for the Suppers. If this is a problem, please let me know. Years 11-13: Pupils will meet in the House to prepare for the Suppers at 4.30pm. No pupils will be allowed off-site between the end of the school day and the start of the event. Therefore, could I please ask that your son brings either a dinner or a plain black suit with a red bow tie for the evening? Normal school uniform will be sufficient should there be any problems obtaining the above. In addition to this, school uniform will also be needed for academic lessons throughout the day. Please note that the evening will finish at 10pm, and the House will close at 10:15 pm. Friday 13th December School as normal, but there will be no chapel, and pupils will return to the House at the end of period 5. We all need to be seated in the Cathedral by 5pm. Smart school uniform should be worn. 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm: Carol Service in the Cathedral. Parents and friends are very welcome to attend the Carol Service. If you wish to collect your son directly from the Cathedral, please let Mr. Thompson or myself know via email. Please note that this is a compulsory school event, and all pupils should attend. The House will close for the holidays at 6:45pm. Studies and lockers need to be emptied for deep cleaning and routine maintenance, so all belongings need to be taken home. Have a great weekend. Mr A.
