It has been another busy week in MacLeod and the girls have been rushing around representing the School in a variety of sports, as well as the usual drama rehearsals, music lessons and normal day to day school activities. It is wonderful to see so many girls making the most of what is on offer to them. We have a number of exciting events coming up in the last few weeks of half term which I wanted to make you aware of: Monday 2nd December - Christmas Bake Sale for Charity We are asking girls to bring in baked goods (no nuts) so we can sell to the school community to raise money for our house charity, The Winnie Mabaso Foundation. All bakes and donations are gratefully received. There will be added incentive with competitions for the 'Best Bakes' between the girls, competitions for Y7-9 and Y10-13. Thursday 5th December - Parent Drinks - Mulled Wine and Mince Pies Evening This will take place in MacLeod between 5-6.15pm and we are inviting parents to join us when collecting their daughters. This is also where we will be drawing the Christmas Hamper Raffle! All are welcome (younger siblings too). Please email l.myers-bruin@dcsf.org.uk to confirm your attendance by Tuesday 3rd December. Christmas Hamper Raffle Many thanks for all your generous donations to our Hamper raffle. The girls will be coming home with ticket selling sheets with the aim to sell as many tickets as possible to raise money for our house charity and house events. Tickets are being sold in 2 categories:
There are some amazing things to win - great stocking fillers, additional presents for family/friends and plenty of bottles of booze!! The deadline for selling tickets and bringing the money into school is Tuesday 3rd December. The end of term will come around very quickly and a letter confirming plans for the last week of term will be sent by Mrs Rochester in due course. I hope to see as many of you as possible at the drinks event on 5th December. Year 10 Social It was lovely to host the Year 10 social on Tuesday; the girls braved the cold and enjoyed toasting marshmallows around the firepit in the garden. MacLeod Congratulations Grace in Year 12 continues her cricket development and has been invited to train with the Durham CCC Ladies 1st Team. This is a wonderful achievement and will prove excellent preparation for her going to the World Cup in January. Well done, Grace. |
