We are thrilled to share that the Foundation has been shortlisted for the esteemed IDPE Award in recognition of our "In the Place" Development Campaign. This nomination is a significant milestone, reflecting our unwavering commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering community connections. A Campaign That Makes a Difference The "In the Place" Development Campaign has been at the heart of our efforts to support and empower our students. Over the past few years, we have successfully created more than £1 million in opportunities, thanks to the generous support of our donors. These funds have been pivotal in providing bursaries to disadvantaged young people, enabling them to access a DCSF education that might otherwise be out of reach. Beyond financial support, our campaign has facilitated the enhancement of facilities and equipment across various departments, including art and design, wellbeing, the library, drama, music, and sport. These improvements have not only enriched the educational experience but also provided our students with the resources they need to thrive creatively and academically An award for all our Foundation Community Julie Robinson, Chief Executive of the Independent Schools Council, shared her enthusiasm about our nomination: "It has been truly inspiring to witness the variety of engagement projects led by the nominees, fostering connections across communities by reaching out to a broader network of alumni and new contacts, all to support and benefit current students." Andrew Beales, our Development Director, added, "Being shortlisted for an award is a testament to our hundreds of donors, whose gifts – large or small – have made a real difference in providing opportunities here at Durham School and Chorister School. Thank you to them for all they do to support young people across the Foundation." Celebrating Excellence Together Our shortlisting places us alongside other remarkable institutions such as Winchester College, Latymer Upper School, Salisbury Cathedral School, Hymers College, City of London Girls' School, and George Herriot's School. These schools have also demonstrated exceptional dedication to ambition and progress over the past six years. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain committed to our mission of supporting young people and enhancing their educational journeys. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors, staff, students, and the broader community for their continued support and belief in our vision. Stay tuned for more updates as we look forward to IDPE's announcement at the end of IDPE Giving Week next week. Regardless of the outcome, being recognised among such distinguished peers is a proud moment for the Foundation and its supporters and can only increase our motivation to continue this vital work.
