House Music We are looking forward to House Music on Monday which will take place in Durham Cathedral – parents are welcome to attend and buy tickets from the website. The competition starts at 6.30pm and ALL GIRLS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND. Girls will be onsite from 4.20pm and have tea at school (no charge). There will be final rehearsals and then we will walk over to Cathedral for the competition. I would encourage parents to collect from there at 9-9.15pm but if you would prefer to collect your daughter from MacLeod, she must be collected by 9.30pm at the LATEST. A reminder, there will be no school buses on that evening. MacLeod Christmas Raffle A friendly reminder that we are seeking donations for our Christmas Raffle. There will be 2 types of hamper up for grabs, adult hampers and ones aimed at teenagers (both boys and girls). Please refer to the flyer sent home with the girls before half term for ideas. We would really like all members of MacLeod to contribute in some way, by either making donations for the hampers or by buying tickets. Last year we made 8 hampers and raised £1885 which was unbelievable! We would very much like to equal that, if not beat it, this year! All proceeds raised will be split between our House Charity, the Winnie Mabaso Foundation, and MacLeod. Please bring any donations into MacLeod by Monday 25th November. Many thanks in anticipation!!
The draw for the raffle will take place at our annual Mulled Wine and Mince Pies event on Thursday 5th December. This is an open invite to all MacLeod parents and guardians and the official invitation will be sent out in due course. Year 8 Social It was lovely to have the Year 8 girls for their social on Tuesday evening. The girls enjoyed watching a movie together and eating pizza with Mr Potts. Year 10 Social – Tuesday 26th November A reminder for Year 10 parents, the girls' social will take place on the same night as Year 10 Parents Evening. Anti-Bullying Week This week we wore odd socs (INSERT PHOTOS) to raise awareness of individuality and being unique as part of Anti-Bullying Week. The girls also completed the annual survey on bullying in school which enables us to have a clear picture of our school community and gives valuable insights for staff to act on. Laura Myers-Bruin |
