As I write, we are preparing for today's Harvest Festival. Thank you to everyone for your generous food donations which we will deliver to the Foodbank at the Cathedral. We are all very much looking forward to seeing many parents at Chapel for this morning's service. This week has been particularly full of action and opportunity for all the children at Chorister School. On Sunday, the Choristers performed in the DCCA concert, impressing all with their wonderful musical ability. They work hard in their almost daily rehearsals, showcasing their expertise and efforts in events like this. Year 3 to 6 sports teams competed in rugby and hockey fixtures against a number of local schools, tournaments, and 'standalone' fixtures. Children in FS2 visited Harwick Park and Year 1 went to Durham Castle – reports from both visits are included in today's Half Term Highlights. All children in Year 1 to Year 6 engaged with Class Music Performances over the course of the week. This was also the second week of this term's round of parent/tutor meetings to support partnerships between home and school. Finally, a big thank you to parents, staff and especially pupils who supported the Open Morning last Saturday on both sites. Prospective parents who were guided by our pupils were very complimentary about children's knowledge of and loyalty to their school and their overall polite, mature demeanour. True Young Ambassadors! Please do enjoy the Half Term break, and we look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks' time. |
