As the half term draws to a close the boys in School House can look back on what has been an excellent term. While it has certainly been busy, the boys have still managed to create a very positive and friendly atmosphere making the house a brilliant place to be. This half term is always a tough one so to see such energy this morning speaks volumes for them all. To round off the term, we gave a rousing rendition of 'it's rainin men' with all (ish) of the boys blasting it out.

Sports

Rowing report from Mr Bryant...

This past weekend, our rowers competed in the Tyne Long Distance Sculls and the Small Boats Head bringing home several impressive wins. The Boys J18 Coxless Quad, consisting of Alexander Purves Liddell, Matthew Wilson, Will Chaytor, and Ed Dando, also powered through to a win. Our J17 Boys Double, Ethan Johnson and Jonny Masterman, had a strong performance to take first place as well. And Jason Wrack triumphed in the J16 Single. Congratulations to all the rowers on their outstanding performances!

A mixed week for a couple of our rugby sides with the 1st XV progressing to the next round of the National Cup while our U15 side lost by a score to Barnard Castle. The 1st XV game could not have been a better example of 'a game of two halves' and the boys did well to stem the second half tide. The U15s were frustrated on their return to school following the game; the boys felt they could have gotten over the line but just made some silly mistakes. Much to learn for both sides and lots of positives from a good term for the Rugby Club.

Music

It continues to be raining men in the Common Room most days and the boys are starting to get everything together. Theo M has the boys in good shape and I look forward to seeing how the different elements come together. House Music will be in Cathedral on the 18th November and parents/Guardian may come and watch. Tickets will go on sale over half term.

Charity

Keep an eye on House Comms for Movember information. If you are able to, do please Mo with us and I will share staff and pupil progress on our house Twitter. Confidence is high amongst many of the seniors that they will achieve Mo immortality in what they grow... I am not sharing the same optimism, but I wish them luck. Staff are in the mix too, with similar levels determination and optimism. imagine being a member of staff with a lesser Mo than a senior boy... ouch! I will set up our donation page when we return from half term and get the ball rolling.

Housekeeping

Half term is the ideal time for the boys to do a kit check and ensure that they are only carrying their own kit around! They should have brought all of their kit home with them today and hopefully, some school work to complete. Finally, a massive thank your for all of your support of the boys this term.
