This week it has been pleasing to see the boys start to really settle into the routine of school and life in Poole house. 

The boarding house has had a wonderful start to the year and the 9 new full-time boarders have made an excellent positive impact already. The celebration of many different cultures in the house is superb and we are so pleased to say we have people from 13 different countries living with us. 

On top of this we have had the addition of some flexi boarders with us already which always adds to the atmosphere in house on an evening. Janice is still working her magic every morning and managing to feed nearly 100 boys in the 20 minute window of morning break, she really is a marvel. 

As the weather feels like it maybe starting to change, please can I remind you that pupils need to wear a School coat or a plain navy or black coat.

Sports Focus 

Last Friday evening was the annual Boat club dinner Ethan J will be writing a report of the evening which will be in next weeks addition of the Friday flyer. 

Thursday 12th Sept The under 14s cricket side managed to play their final of the Durham County Cup this week at Hetton Lyons Cricket Club, against High Tunstall on Thursday morning and were comfortable winners, Mr Fishwick said it was an outstanding performance from all the boys. Friday 6th Sept 1st XV v Harrogate Grammar Won Pooleites involved, Toby H, Matthew H, George B, William W Special mention to both Toby H and William W for making their debuts for the 1st XV, a great achievement as they're both in Year 11. Well done boys! 

Saturday 7th Sept Under 14s v Yarm School Lost Pooleites involved, Edward C, James M, Henry W, Zac M, Henry E, Sebastian W, Harry VDG 

2nd XV v Austin Friars won

Wednesday 11th Sept 1st XV and 2nd XV v Tynemouth College and Bede College won both

12th Sept Under 12 and 13s A, B and C fixture against Kings Priory, all the boys in years 7 and 8 were involved in an afternoon of rugby. It was an excellent occasion, and brilliant to see so many young men enjoying the game.
