School House
Friday, 5 July 2024

What a brilliant week it has been in school with the boys enjoying all sorts of activities Monday to Wednesday, a whole school trip to Flamingo Land yesterday, and House BBQs last night. Today, we are working in the local community and doing what we can to help.

Sports Day

It was another win for the House at Sports Day last Friday, making it seven in a row for what has been a brilliant period for us. Most impressively, the boys won every year group and the relays. All of the boys who competed for the House were superb with many fantastic individual performances. To win by such a huge margin was incredibly impressive and I was so proud of how the boys both competed and supported each other. Days like these are what the Houses are all about and I thank each and every pupil, regardless of where they came, for their efforts.

Lauds

Huge congratulations to Jack C who wins the Laud Legend competition this year. Jack has shown unbelievable consistency to hold off the chasing pack.

Cricket

Our 1st XI and U15 XI have been away this week playing in a festival down at Cambridge. Both teams enjoyed a great trip and a particular shout out to George F scoring a century in the opening game. Thank you to all staff and parents who supported the boys.

House BBQs

A brilliant night was had by all for our beach-themed, music-and-inflatable-filled extravaganza. The boys were on fine form and, despite the gale force winds, a good time was had by all. It was great to have Poole House and The Caffinites with us to listen to music.

Fundraising

Ed D (Year 12) is running the GNR this year in support of Cancer Research. Please click on the link and read Ed's story, and donate if you are able.

School Colours

During the Headmaster's Prize Giving assembly this week, School Colours (recognition of contribution to whole school) were awarded to:

  • George F (Half)
  • Ed D (Full)
  • Nikita D (Full)

Massive congratulations to the boys listed above.

Year 13 Leavers

I would like to say a special thank you to our Year 13 leavers. They were in Year 7 when I joined School House and they have been an absolute pleasure to have with me throughout the years. As a group, they have won every House competition and provided us all with so many fantastic memories. I will miss them greatly next year and they can leave knowing that they have made School House a better place.

A final thank you...

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone of you for your support of the boys and the House. We are in a great place and that is thanks in no small part to everything that you do for us.

I wish you all a restful and enjoyable summer break.
