From the Principal

As I write the sun is shining on Top Ground where the School is taking part in our annual Sports Day. As ever, the events are keenly contested and there have been some excellent individual performances. However, and I apologise for saying this almost every year, what I am always struck by is the spirit of mutual support with which those who are less skilled in the arts of track and field are cheered around the courses. House pride is strong, and I know it encourages all to give the extra ounce of effort; this even includes me, though inevitably it is the Heads of School who receive the loudest cheers.

Earlier this week Year 7 and 8 pupils put on a fantastic Cabaret evening in the Luce Theatre. It was great to see such up and coming young talent in the school, and the variety of skits and songs was impressive too. Well done to all of those who were involved.
Finally, ahead of a very busy week next week can I remind you of two events taking place at the end of term: first, Speech Day, for which pupil attendance is compulsory and parental attendance warmly encouraged, and the Summer Ball, for which tickets are still available until Sunday evening.

I look forward to seeing many of you at both.
