School House
Friday, 21 June 2024

Today is one of my favourite days of the school year as Year 13 have now all finished their exams. For many, they can now begin to function as normal humans again having spent the past month in an exam revision bubble! The overriding consensus is that the exams have gone well and everyone seems happy with their papers. The boys can now relax and enjoy the end of term celebrations. Keeping with exam groups, we have the Year 11 boys back in this morning as they start to prepare for life in the Sixth Form. We are all looking forward to seeing the boys and meeting some of our new Bungites.

Hoodies and Vests

Any last minute orders, please email me asap!  We have quite a few already, which is great,  and I'm happy to add to the order!

Sport

Lots of cricket this week and a few games to mention. Rowan B made his debut for the 1st XI against the MCC yesterday for what I am sure will be the first of many caps. There were also wins for our U12 & U13 sides in their respective County Cup competitions. The U14s have also won this week with Louie M scoring 50 for the U14s the standout performance of the week with the bat. Two vital wickets for Max H in the U12 game also of note.

Saying Goodbye

Today we see goodbye to Nikita D (Year 13) and we wish him well with his future studies. Nikita has been a fantastic member of School House and supported both us and his peers during his time with us. We will miss him greatly and are extremely proud of all he has achieved.

Boarding

A trip to Newcastle is available this weekend and I will be encouraging the boys to visit the spiritual home of football.

Cake Sale

We will be having a cake sale on Tuesday 25th June with all money raised going towards House BBQs and final week celebrations. Please do encourage the boys to get involved!  A gentle reminder that we are a nut free school and if I could ask that an ingredients list is placed on any cake boxes. As you know, we always go 'all in' for our sales and this year we will be no different! I am envisaging cake, music, the sun and lots of great food!

House Keeping

We will be emptying lockers next Friday as the boys will no longer need them. This should hopefully mean that all dirty kit will make its way back to you!

I wish you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
