STEM DAY SUCCESS
Friday, 21 June 2024
Some of our top Y8 and Y9 computer scientists competed in a STEM Day at Teesside University on Friday 14 June, alongside pupils from seven other local schools.
Eleven of our pupils took part. They were split into smaller groups and mixed with pupils from other schools to compete in the competition. These teams then solved a variety of different challenges including robotics, medical diagnostics and crime solving.
Pupils from Durham School won first place in the robotics challenge, and another team featuring Durham School pupils were judged to be overall competition winners.
Our winning teams included Bobby C and Joshua B in robotics and the overall winners were Emile B and David Y. The winning team will be returning in January to compete in the next round of the competition. Well done!!!
