Pimlico

The tone of the last week has been rather more celebratory than the one before. For one thing, all the exams are over and girls have been happy to go about the normal business of school without the additional pressures. Many have even been excited about some of their results.

In addition, the wonderful Sports dinner of last Friday, coupled with a very happy weekend at the Regatta, meant that many girls rightfully spent the weekend celebrating sport. As always, it was a real pleasure to hear of their efforts and achievements in a wide range of sports and I was very proud of those who were mentioned in person or who received an award. Well done to:  Amy G, Jasmine M, Freya Mole, and Hannah T for their Junior Sports Colours. It was equally lovely to hear that our players from the 1st XI hockey team were part of the ‘Team of the Year’. Congratulations also to: Polina M for the Swimming award, Rosa B. who won ‘Senior Sports Woman’ and Sophie S, who won the ‘KAL cup for hockey’.
Amy G, Natalie Y, Ruby W and Charlotte J are more names to celebrate, namely for their superb efforts in the Regatta. It was certainly a challenging event, but the girls did us proud. Great effort!

It was only fitting this week that Pimlico year 12 monitors hosted a post-exam disco in the Luce Theatre on Wednesday. Thanks to Matilda A, Lucy G and Milly R, younger girls in particular enjoyed a bit of a boogie with glow bands and Haribo’s to some great tunes and the added hilarity of Pimlico staff dancers. A happy event! My thanks to all girls and staff who supported.
Thank you to our backyard committee who spent a large portion of the cake sale funds on some outdoor games to use in this space. Boarders were delighted to trial them out (as per the pictures) and I’m happy to say that they are well worth the expenditure. Day girls will certainly benefit too and I’m looking forward to bringing our new purchases along to the House BBQ where they may come in handy too.

That said, may I remind girls that there are still two more weeks of serious hard work before we reach that point. This means that homework must still be done well and punctually and girls must remember their correct clothing and kit for every day. Thank you to parents and guardians for their support in this.
In the meantime, have a happy weekend!
