Week 4! And it has flown by!

After our bracelet making on Friday, the girls have continued to get creative and have used break and lunchtime to be making their own creations – this has been a successful little project, and one we will certainly think about doing again. It not only gets them to take time with each other in a quiet and creative space, but it certainly teaches perseverance and patience when the tiny beads fall all over the floor!

This week was Lodge House's Chapel talk, and the girls did a brilliant job speaking about inspirational women. Their talk suitably started with Niamh speaking about Millie Lodge, who Lodge House is named after, linking her passion and bravery with our house values. Freya, Hilda, Hallie and Natalie all spoke about historical women, some more recent than others, including Agent Fifi, Marie Curie, Anne Frank and Princess Diana. Calli and Isla proudly spoke about family members who have influenced them; Calli spoke fondly about her mum and the kindness she shows to others whilst Isla spoke about her late Grandma who she hopes to be like when she is older. There was a consistent theme of bravery throughout, and the girls successfully got the congregation to think about who inspires them. All the girls spoke confidently in front of the school and were well-articulated and clear. This is not an easy thing to volunteer for and they certainly showed bravery for volunteering – well done.

Lady of Lodge

This week our Lady of Lodge goes to Isla, who volunteered to speak in Chapel and took the challenge in her stride. Well done Isla.

Upcoming dates for your diary

Thursday 10th October: Hello Yellow! To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day, we are going to stand together and wear yellow for YoungMinds.

Girls are asked to wear something yellow in addition to their uniform – hair bobbles, jumpers, tights etc and bring in a donation of £1.

We will also be doing a bake sale that day to raise more money for the charity.

Monday 14th October:  Year 10 + 11 social (Halloween themed crafts, cost £4)

Monday 18th November: House Music in the Cathedral

Monday 25th November: Year 8 and 9 Social (Christmas crafts)

Other things to note:

Please can we ask that parents do not drive round the back of Caffinites when dropping off/picking up their daughter(s) - this causes massive amounts of congestion. Thank you.

If anyone has any craft donations for our Craft/Quiet Room we would gladly take these off your hands!

If your daughter is ill or has an appointment, please do email me so that we can adapt the register accordingly and know of her whereabouts. Thank you.

Have a lovely weekend, all.

Be Brave
