Our Foundation value 'Kindness' has been in the spotlight this week while we have participated in the NSPCCs Kindness challenge. Right across the school, we have seen some thoughtful acts of kindness and whilst this is something we encourage all of the time, the focus has helped to embed the MARK value with all. From simple acts to notes of nomination, everyone has really taken this week on board and it has had a very positive impact on our whole school community. I myself was delighted to see two special messages hidden by my coffee cup in my study this morning! Yesterday, the weather was very kind to us as we brought everyone together at Durham School for National Poetry Day in the School Chapel followed by the Foundation photograph. The children were an absolute credit to us and took everything in their stride. This morning, we have welcomed former Chorister pupil Olly Quinn back to school. Olly has recently appeared in the BBC show 'Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience'. Revisiting his roots in Choral music, Olly met some of our Choristers and chatted about school life here at Choristers, his musical journey and his ambitions. You may catch a glimpse on BBC North East and Cumbria. We wish him success in his journey and thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to come and see us. This weekend sees Girls' weekend for the Choristers; we look forward to hearing about their weekend activities which combines with International Chorister Day on Sunday (more news on that next week). |
